Assistant Manager – Lifting Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Lifting will lead critical and complex lift operations, ensuring safety, compliance and efficiency on site. This role requires hands‑on expertise in high‑capacity crane handling, lift planning and coordination with rigging teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and approve lift plans for complex critical lifts based on engineering inputs.
• Manage and supervise site rigging teams during lift execution.
• Ensure all lifts comply with LOLER, BS standards and ASME requirements.
• Coordinate tandem lifts involving a minimum of four cranes, including 500 MT+ capacity units.
• Oversee specialized operations such as flipping roll‑up, shore‑to‑vessel crane work, tailing, pancake handling and panel roll‑up.
• Maintain appointed person certification and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• At least 5 years of international experience.
• Hands‑on experience with critical lifts and high‑capacity crane operations.
• Technical diploma and appointed person certification.
• Familiarity with Qatar Energy QE approved lifting specialist requirements.

Required skills

• LOLER, BS standards and ASME requirements knowledge.
• Lift planning and engineering analysis interpretation.
• Operation of 500 MT+ capacity cranes and tandem lift coordination.
• UC, SBC, DAF technical understanding.
• LEEA foundation course completion.
• Flipping roll‑up, shore‑to‑vessel crane operations, tailing operations.
• Pancake handling, panel roll‑up, equipment erection.
