Assistant Manager – Value Added Tax (VAT)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to lead Value Added Tax (VAT) engagements for our clients in the GCC region. The role involves delivering high‑quality tax advisory, compliance and audit services while building strong client relationships and representing KPMG’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare client proposals, write deliverables and coordinate with colleagues across KPMG offices.
• Manage multi‑jurisdictional engagements, reviewing inputs from other offices.
• Ensure adherence to risk processes and consult with the risk team on any deviations.
• Develop and sustain relationships with client management teams, acting as an ambassador for the firm.
• Identify and manage risks, implementing the firm’s risk management framework.
• Deliver high‑quality engagement work with strong attention to detail and project management.
• Increase KPMG’s market presence through client interaction and inter‑team collaboration.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in Indirect Tax, specifically VAT, within the GCC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; strong academic record.
• Professional qualifications such as ADIT, ACA, CPA, ACCA, Masters in Taxation or similar are preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting internal and external relationships.
• Highly motivated, achievement‑oriented self‑starter with strong analytical and strategic thinking.
