Banquet Captain

About the role

The Banquet Captain leads the service team to deliver seamless food‑and‑beverage experiences for group functions at our Muscat property. You will coordinate with chefs, stewards and guests to ensure every detail meets Marriott standards.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate service needs to kitchen and stewarding staff throughout events.
• Prepare and present group checks, handling total charges and payment processing.
• Set up banquet rooms, restaurants and coffee‑break areas, ensuring proper centerpieces, table settings and cleanliness of china, glass and silver.
• Check guest satisfaction during service and address special dietary requests.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and adhere to all safety, security and uniform policies.
• Provide professional guest greetings, answer phones with proper etiquette and support team goals.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting and carrying items up to 25 lb and standing for extended periods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to follow company policies, safety procedures and maintain confidentiality.
