About the role
We are looking for a Banquet Commis I to join our kitchen team at W Hotels in Muscat. The role involves preparing ingredients, cooking and assembling banquet dishes while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper cooking.
- Prepare cold foods, assemble dishes, serve portions onto appropriate receptacles and maintain workstation cleanliness.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment, and monitor appliance temperatures.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in a food‑and‑beverage or culinary environment.
- Ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.
- Willingness to follow company safety, security and uniform policies.
Required skills
- Food preparation and portioning.
- Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, microwaves and fryers.
