Branch Associate – Global Trade Solutions Counter

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious individual to join HSBC’s Corporate and Institutional Banking team as a Branch Associate on the Global Trade Solutions Counter. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality counter service for trade customers in Oman, handling enquiries, processing documents and supporting customers with trade product information.

Key responsibilities

• Handle counter‑based customer enquiries on trade transactions, including status updates and document delivery queries.
• Receive trade instructions and manage document/application intake at the counters with accurate checks and controls.
• Release documents once settled after verifying collection authority in line with system and procedure requirements.
• Send original customer requests and documents for scanning and complete branch scanning where scanners are installed.
• Release Export DCs to customers in line with procedures and follow up on collections, returns and uncollected items.
• Complete monthly balancing of physical import documents held at the branch counter within stipulated timelines.
• Maintain daily filing standards, including correct placement of documents and regular review of pending folders.
• Escalate exceptions and any items pending collection beyond two days to the manager following established escalation points.

Required profile

• Proven knowledge and hands‑on experience in trade products, procedures and customer service.
• Strong communication and influencing skills when resolving customer queries and explaining trade products.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy, prioritising service quality, productivity and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated organisational and time‑management skills to meet service timelines.
• Capability to operate independently while partnering closely with the wider team and manager for issue resolution.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional relevant languages as required.
• Commitment to follow Anti‑Money‑Laundering requirements and maintain HSBC regulatory and internal control standards.
