Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the role

The Chief Technology Officer will lead CardO’s technology vision and build the platform from the ground up. Based in Muscat, this full‑time on‑site role requires hands‑on development, architecture design and close collaboration with founders, product, operations and banking partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute CardO’s overall technology strategy and roadmap.
• Lead architecture, development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement of the platform.
• Build and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and innovation.
• Design scalable, secure cloud‑based SaaS architecture and oversee integrations with banks, payment providers and ERP systems.
• Establish cybersecurity, data protection, monitoring and business continuity practices.
• Represent the technology function with investors, banking partners and other strategic stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong software development background with experience leading engineering teams delivering cloud‑based SaaS solutions.
• Proven expertise in software architecture, system design and building scalable platforms.
• Extensive leadership experience in technology roles, preferably within FinTech, payments or financial services.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity, information security, data privacy and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Ability to operate in an early‑stage startup environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
