Cyber Security Governance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Governance Engineer to lead OT and industrial cybersecurity initiatives at our sites in Muscat. You will act as the primary cybersecurity authority for automation and OT systems, ensuring compliance with grid station requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee site cybersecurity, enforcing best practices across design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage FAT/SAT execution, vendor coordination, and OT security system installation, hardening, testing, and acceptance.
• Liaise with vendors, system integrators, and subcontractors to align cybersecurity implementation with company policies.
• Maintain documentation, compliance evidence, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Provide timely communication and escalation of cybersecurity risks to project and company teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, IT, Computer Engineering, or Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering with OT/Power systems exposure.
• 5–8 years overall experience in OT/Industrial/SCADA cybersecurity, including at least 3 years site‑based experience in grid stations, power utilities, oil & gas, or critical infrastructure.
• Relevant certifications such as IEC 62443 Foundation Specialist, Risk Assessment Specialist, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISM, CISSP, GICSP, or vendor‑specific OT security certifications.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of OT architectures (SCADA, DCS, Substation Automation, IEC 61850).
• Network segmentation, zones & conduits, perimeter security, and Electronic Security Perimeter (ESP).
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls, Active Directory, Endpoint Protection (EPO), vulnerability assessment and remediation.
• Asset discovery and monitoring tools such as Nozomi.
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, NERC CIP concepts, risk assessment, and exception handling.
