Economics Teacher – Full‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Economics Teacher to join The International School of Choueifat in Muscat. The successful candidate will deliver the SABIS® curriculum, support student achievement, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform other related tasks or projects as delegated by SABIS® management.
• Teach using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on pacing charts, applying the SABIS® point system.
• Mark exams according to the department schedule.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS® point system to maintain a conducive classroom environment.
• Invigilate exams and ensure proper exam conditions.
• Support low‑performing students to improve motivation and achievement.
• Develop and follow external exam preparation using past papers as scheduled.
• Assist with duties such as testing, substitute teaching, organizing lunches and buses, traffic control, and other administrative tasks.
• Prepare and participate in student‑life events (art, open house, physical education) with the student life coordinator.
• Attend training sessions to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field (or equivalent).
• Proficient or native English language skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to meet Omani education and certification requirements, pass reference and criminal background checks.
