Executive Director – Export Development & Trade Balance

About the role

The Executive Director will lead the Export Development and Trade Balance Enhancement Programme under the Oman National Program for Private Sector & Foreign Trade Development (Nazdaher). Reporting to the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the role drives Oman's Vision 2040 by expanding non‑oil exports and strengthening trade competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of the Export Development and Trade Balance Enhancement Programme.
• Develop and implement annual strategic and operational plans aligned with programme objectives.
• Drive initiatives that increase non‑oil exports and improve trade competitiveness.
• Lead international trade exhibitions, business delegations, and overseas market development missions.
• Build strategic relationships with exporters, industry stakeholders, government entities, and international partners.
• Promote trade facilitation initiatives and exporter capability development.
• Maximise trade opportunities through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Comprehensive Economic Agreements (CEAs).
• Collaborate with ports, logistics stakeholders, and relevant government entities to strengthen export and re‑export activities.
• Monitor programme performance through KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing programme team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or executive role.
• Strong experience in export development, international trade, trade facilitation, market development, ports and logistics, or supply chain strategy.
• Experience working with government entities or national economic development programmes is highly preferred.
