Field Engineer – VSD & ESP Commissioning

About the role

We are looking for a Field Engineer to provide advanced technical support, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems across industrial sites in the oil & gas and water sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, calibration and repairs on low‑voltage VSDs, including troubleshooting of power electronics, IGBTs, control boards, cooling systems and harmonic filters.
• Conduct power quality analysis and waveform capture to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Install, commission and troubleshoot ESP systems (motor, pump, seal, sensor, surface VSD) and monitor performance data such as amperage, vibration, temperature and pressure to optimise run life and efficiency.
• Lead independent on‑site interventions, including emergency breakdown support, while reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control system diagrams.
• Ensure all work complies with HSE standards, including LOTO, arc‑flash and confined‑space procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience, preferably in oil and gas.
• Proven experience with VSD and ESP equipment.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
• Strong reporting and documentation abilities.
