Field Operator – Intern

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Field Operator Intern to support the stability and performance of our plant operations. The role involves operating and monitoring process equipment, assisting with maintenance, and ensuring compliance with QHSE standards in an oil and gas production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor operational parameters in the field and record them in log‑sheets.
• Perform shutdowns and startups of systems as required.
• Coordinate with the Control Room Operator during normal operations, startups, and shutdowns.
• Top up oil and cooling systems and oversee online chemical injection where applicable.
• Provide shift handover information to maintain or improve plant performance.
• Carry out daily, monthly and quarterly checks and frontline maintenance tasks.
• Report any abnormalities immediately to the Control Room Operator and Operations Lead.
• Prepare systems safely before maintenance, track work progress, and ensure conditions are suitable for restart.
• Identify, report and correct unsafe conditions and enforce housekeeping standards.
• Apply QHSE procedures such as LOTO, PTW, TBT and JHA and document them correctly.

Required profile

• Technical or engineering degree in Industrial Processes, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in oil and gas production or process field operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
