Field Specialist Training – 18‑Month Paid Apprenticeship

About the role

SLB offers an 18‑month paid training program designed to develop future Field Specialists for the Production Systems Division. Participants will acquire hands‑on technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process operations while working on real field projects.

Key responsibilities

• Attend classroom and on‑site training sessions covering core production system disciplines.
• Assist senior engineers in field installations, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform routine mechanical, electrical and instrumentation tasks under supervision.
• Document work activities and contribute to safety and quality reports.
• Prepare for a post‑training role with a 6‑weeks‑on / 3‑weeks‑off rotational schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering.
• Omani national actively seeking employment.
• Willingness to work in field environments and travel as required.
