Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor – Retail Hypermarket

About the role

The Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor ensures the fresh‑produce section delivers high quality, variety and freshness to create an exceptional customer experience while meeting sales targets. You will lead a team, manage daily operations and continuously improve stock handling and merchandising.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the fruits and vegetables department, guaranteeing product freshness and availability.
• Monitor assortment, pricing and promotional activities to drive sales performance.
• Control inventory levels, replenish stock and schedule deliveries to avoid out‑of‑stock situations.
• Reduce waste and shrinkage through effective stock rotation, handling procedures and quality checks.
• Identify slow‑moving items and implement promotional actions to maximise sell‑through.
• Maintain merchandising standards, planograms and pricing accuracy.
• Enforce health, safety, hygiene and food‑handling standards while keeping the department clean.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to provide excellent customer service and achieve operational goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a fruits & vegetables department or supermarket environment.
• Strong knowledge of fresh‑produce quality standards, stock rotation and freshness management.
• Experience in inventory control, waste reduction and merchandising best practices.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and customer‑service abilities.
