Gastroenterologist

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Gastroenterologist to join a leading medical facility in Oman. The successful candidate will diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions, providing high‑quality patient care on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations, review medical histories and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory, imaging and endoscopic findings to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Perform upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy as well as capsule endoscopy procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hepatology, surgery and nursing, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate medical records, adhere to clinical guidelines and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with residency in Internal Medicine.
• Fellowship or specialized training in Gastroenterology.
• Current professional licence or eligibility for licensure in Oman (Dataflow, Prometric/OMSB).
• Experience working in hospital or specialised clinic settings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in upper and lower GI endoscopy.
• Experience with capsule endoscopy.
• Clinical expertise in hepatology and liver‑related disease management.
