HAZOP Chairman

About the role

The HAZOP Chairman will lead Hazard and Operability Study sessions for capital projects in the oil and gas sector in Oman. This senior engineering position requires strong leadership, deep process and HSE knowledge, and up‑to‑date expertise in risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Chair and facilitate HAZOP workshops for complex oil & gas projects.
• Ensure compliance with Oman’s oil and gas regulations throughout the study.
• Provide technical guidance on process safety and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate HAZOP findings into project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of post‑graduation experience in design and development of capital projects within the oil & gas industry.
• Senior‑level engineering background with a degree in Chemical or Process Engineering from an accredited university.
• Certified HAZOP Lead with proven experience chairing HAZOP activities.
• Strong knowledge of Oman’s oil and gas regulatory framework.
