Head of Drama Department (Key Stages 3‑5)

About the role

EDVECTUS Ltd, a well‑established not‑for‑profit international school in Muscat, Oman, is seeking a dynamic Head of Drama Department. The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of the Drama curriculum across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and A‑Level, ensuring high‑quality teaching and inspiring creative expression.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and review the Drama curriculum for KS3, GCSE and A‑Level.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate drama teachers, fostering professional growth.
• Direct serious drama productions, coordinating rehearsals, casting and technical elements.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align drama provision with the school’s academic and holistic goals.
• Maintain compliance with the Pearson Edexcel GCSE specification and UK QTS standards.

Required profile

• Degree or formal training in Drama and Theatre Studies (English as a secondary subject is a plus).
• Qualified Teacher Status (UK QTS) and proven leadership experience as a Head of Department.
• Extensive teaching experience at KS3, GCSE and A‑Level, preferably within a UK state school setting.
• Demonstrated track record of directing serious drama productions.
• Availability to start in August 2026, January 2027 or August 2027, with strong professional references.
