Head of Technical Asset Management

About the role

The Head of Technical Asset Management will lead the airline’s asset strategy, ensuring optimal performance of aircraft and engines throughout their lifecycle. This senior position drives cost‑efficient maintenance, contract compliance, and reliable operations to support long‑term business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and maintenance contract management, ensuring compliance, budget control and alignment with procurement policies.
• Oversee all MRO activities, including engine shop visits and strategic partnership management to secure timely maintenance slots.
• Develop short‑ and long‑term asset strategies covering shop planning, engine availability, lease requirements and maintenance reserve optimisation.
• Coordinate aircraft and engine induction, redelivery and lease return processes, communicating with stakeholders to minimise costs.
• Optimise asset utilisation by improving maintenance planning, extending intervals where appropriate and reducing lifecycle costs.
• Provide technical input for RFPs and support commercial negotiations for major service agreements.
• Manage third‑party technical support contracts, including AOG arrangements, to ensure rapid recovery during disruptions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Business Planning and Commercial teams to deliver accurate forecasts and data for operational and financial decision‑making.
• Drive continuous improvement of asset‑management processes, procedures and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or consultancy role.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA, FAA) and an EASA/Oman CAA licensed engineer.
• Proven track record in process optimisation, inventory and power‑plant management.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
