HSE Engineer – Renewable Energy & Construction (16 months)

About the role

SEGULA Technologies Middle East is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to oversee safety across renewable‑energy and electrical‑infrastructure construction activities in Duqm, Oman. The role focuses on monitoring compliance, conducting inspections and coordinating safety matters with contractors and project stakeholders for a 16‑month fixed‑term assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor HSE compliance across construction activities.
• Conduct routine site safety inspections.
• Review and manage Permit to Work (PTW) activities.
• Participate in HSE meetings and coordinate safety matters with contractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor electrical safety and oversee battery/BESS‑related safety requirements where applicable.
• Identify unsafe conditions and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support incident prevention, site‑safety reporting and compliance with approved HSE plans.
• Coordinate with the project’s Lead HSE function.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in HSE or a relevant technical discipline.
• NEBOSH qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Experience on renewable‑energy and/or substation projects.
• Strong construction HSE experience.
• Good knowledge of PTW systems.
• Electrical‑safety experience preferred.
• BESS/battery safety exposure advantageous.
