IT Engineer - Patch Management

About the role

A multinational consulting firm in Oman is looking for an experienced IT Engineer focused on patch management. The role is onsite, project-based and independent contractor, with an initial duration of 12 months on a rolling contract and an ASAP start date.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patch deployment across servers, endpoints and enterprise IT environments
• Assess, test and schedule patches in coordination with infrastructure and security teams
• Monitor patch compliance, troubleshoot failed deployments and address outstanding vulnerabilities
• Maintain patching records, deployment reports and exception tracking
• Support maintenance windows and post-deployment validation to minimise operational disruption

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant IT experience, including hands-on patch management
• Experience with tools such as Microsoft SCCM / Intune, WSUS and Ivanti
• Strong understanding of patch testing, deployment, troubleshooting and compliance reporting
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with technical and business stakeholders
• Willingness to work onsite in Oman under a project-based, independent contractor arrangement
