Kitchen Equipment Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Equipment Technician ensures that all kitchen appliances and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate reliably. This role is essential for maintaining smooth kitchen operations in hospitality or catering environments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, and coffee machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quickly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns.
• Carry out electrical tasks including work on distribution boards, wiring, sockets, and circuit breakers.
• Handle plumbing duties such as water line repairs, drainage maintenance, and grease‑trap servicing.
• Perform mechanical and HVAC tasks, including servicing fan coil units (FCU).
• Respond to breakdown calls, keep accurate service records, and follow safety and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining kitchen equipment and MEP systems.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen appliances and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.
• Proven troubleshooting ability.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring and circuit breaker maintenance.
• Distribution board (DB) handling.
• Plumbing system repair and grease‑trap maintenance.
• HVAC servicing, specifically fan coil units (FCU).
• Preventive maintenance techniques for kitchen equipment.
