Lifting Equipment Inspector – On-site (Muscat)

About the role

The Lifting Equipment Inspector will work full‑time on‑site in Muscat, conducting inspections and certifications of a wide range of lifting equipment to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of cranes, hoists, slings, shackles and other lifting accessories.
• Prepare and submit accurate inspection reports and maintain documentation.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
• Advise on safe lifting practices and identify potential hazards.
• Collaborate with technical staff on lifting plans and risk assessments.
• Support training sessions by providing practical input and demonstrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience inspecting lifting equipment and accessories.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Immediate availability and, preferably, a transferable visa.

Required skills

• LEEA certification (Foundation, LEG and additional diploma).
• NDT Level 2 certification in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Testing (MT).
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API and ANSI standards.
• Experience with elevators, escalators, marine & offshore cranes, elevating work platforms, vehicle‑mounted aerial devices, boom cranes, overhead traveling cranes, monorails, jib cranes, A‑frame & mobile gantries, and forklifts.
