Maritime Lawyer – International & Admiralty Law

About the role

We are seeking experienced Maritime Lawyers to join our global research centre, supporting clients across the MENA, South Asia and Indo‑Pacific regions. The role is full‑time and can be performed on‑site or remotely, offering the chance to work on high‑profile international maritime and admiralty matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on carriage of goods by sea, marine insurance, charter parties, port regulations and related dispute resolution.
• Draft, review and negotiate maritime contracts such as charter parties, bills of lading and service agreements.
• Prepare legal opinions, pleadings and policy papers for national and international courts and arbitral tribunals.
• Conduct in‑depth legal research and contribute to policy reports and publications.
• Support regulatory compliance, risk‑management strategies and stakeholder engagement for maritime operations.
• Collaborate with our global team of solicitors, barristers and researchers on cross‑border cases.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in maritime, admiralty and commercial law.
• Strong grounding in international law and ability to apply legal principles to complex cross‑border maritime issues.
• Proven experience in litigation, arbitration and court proceedings involving shipping, ports and marine insurance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong advocacy and client‑advisory capabilities.
