Materials Specialist – Material Management

About the role

Ensure timely availability, staging, and field distribution of materials for oil & gas projects and turnarounds. Act as the first point of contact for material‑related issues and coordinate closely with company material and warehouse teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first point of call for all material related issues.
• Interface with company materials and warehouse teams.
• Coordinate tagging, kitting, staging, and material readiness for work fronts.
• Manage internal transportation, storage and preservation of materials.
• Track critical materials, shortages and support expediting of missing or damaged items.
• Maintain material status reporting for execution teams.
• Ensure surplus materials are preserved, reconciled with company stores and obtain required sign‑offs.
• Track outstanding material purchase orders using SAP or other relevant systems.
• Provide technical support and alternatives for material availability.

Required profile

• Degree in an engineering discipline (B.Sc./M.Sc./B.Eng.), preferably mechanical, with membership in a recognized professional institute.
• Minimum 10 years experience in oil & gas projects, turnarounds or shutdowns covering end‑to‑end material management.
• Proven experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
