Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, results‑driven Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical maintenance functions while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in turnaround and shutdown execution within the oil & gas or petrochemical sector.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned work according to plan, reporting scope changes and variances to the supervisor.
• Maintain work quality in line with the project quality plan to minimise re‑work.
• Monitor daily progress using system‑generated reports and ensure timely completion of discipline tasks.
• Understand and apply WBS, OBS, cost centres and standard man‑hours for the assigned area.
• Secure all required work permits and ensure team compliance with permit conditions.
• Coordinate access requirements such as scaffolding, excavation and vessel entry ahead of work.
• Analyse man‑hour efficiency and progress reports to keep the project on schedule.
• Promote safety, housekeeping and asset security; conduct daily toolbox talks.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and QA/QC (DIMS) standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience planning and executing turnarounds or shutdowns in oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
• Proven track record managing shutdown, turnaround and retrofit projects.
• Strong project execution and cost‑center management capabilities.
