MEP Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced MEP Coordinator to join a prestigious large‑scale mixed‑use development in Muscat, Oman. The successful candidate will lead the coordination, execution, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with international standards, quality requirements, and construction schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all MEP activities from design through construction to final handover.
• Review MEP designs, drawings, specifications and shop drawings for compliance.
• Manage interfaces between consultants, contractors, suppliers, utility providers and government authorities.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety, cost and schedule performance of MEP works.
• Identify risks, technical issues and construction conflicts and implement practical solutions.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with approved documents and standards.
• Review contractor submissions, RFIs, material approvals, method statements and inspection requests.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives and recommend technical improvements.
• Handle post‑contract matters such as technical variations, claims and coordination issues.
• Provide timely reporting of progress, risks and milestones to project management.
• Support commissioning, testing, handover and close‑out activities while ensuring QHSE compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry.
• At least 5 years’ experience as an MEP Coordinator on large‑scale mega projects.
• Previous experience in a PMC or engineering consultancy environment is highly preferred.
• PMP certification is considered an advantage.
