Monitoring Specialist – Wind Farm Remote Control

About the role

The Monitoring Specialist is responsible for 24/7 remote central control of wind farms, ensuring real‑time visibility of turbine performance, power load, grid conditions and equipment alarms. The role supports on‑site teams through remote start‑stop, reset and debugging while maintaining continuous operation of the monitoring platform.

Key responsibilities

• Perform remote central control duties and monitor turbine operating status around the clock.
• Track power load, grid‑connected conditions and equipment alarms; issue graded reports and closed‑loop work orders to on‑site maintenance.
• Calculate overall wind‑farm power generation efficiency, unit availability and downtime; prepare daily operation reports and efficiency ledgers.
• Provide remote support for turbine start‑stop, reset, debugging and assist with routine inspections and technical renovations.
• Monitor auxiliary equipment such as site security, fire protection and transformers; coordinate handling of hidden hazards.
• Verify completion quality of fault work orders, ensure data traceability and support performance reviews.
• Manage shift handovers, night‑shift logs and maintain uninterrupted operation of the monitoring system.
• Assist project teams in optimizing unit operation strategies and propose improvements for low‑efficiency turbines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical automation, new energy, power systems, electromechanical or related fields (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience in wind‑farm remote central control, monitoring and operation management.
• Familiarity with mainstream wind‑turbine monitoring platforms and common fault codes.
• Knowledge of grid‑connection standards and central‑control procedures.
• Proficiency in office software for preparing reports and data analysis.
• Ability to work rotating and night shifts with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Basic power‑safety management knowledge and a clean operational record.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with on‑site teams and control centres.
