Operations Manager – Construction

About the role

The client, a leading construction firm in Oman, is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily operations across its trading division, interior fit‑out projects, and small‑scale construction sites. The role ensures alignment with company goals, client commitments, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate activities between trading/warehouse, project, finance, and procurement teams.
• Manage procurement, stock levels, and supplier relationships to guarantee material availability and competitive pricing.
• Monitor market pricing trends for key materials (cement, steel, tiles, fittings) and support pricing decisions.
• Plan, schedule, and execute interior fit‑out projects from handover to completion, liaising with designers, clients, and site teams.
• Supervise subcontractors (carpentry, MEP, painting, flooring, joinery) including scope agreements, quality checks, and payment milestones.
• Oversee small‑scale construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and approvals.
• Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials across active sites.
• Interact with consultants, engineers, and Omani authorities for permits, inspections, and approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration or a related field.
• 10–12 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably within Oman.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, material specifications, and interior fit‑out trades.
• Experience in fashion, luxury, retail, hospitality or lifestyle sectors is highly preferred.
