Port Engineer – Dredging Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Port Engineer with a strong focus on dredging to lead technical planning and execution for a major port development in Oman. The role requires on‑site presence, close collaboration with contractors, and strict adherence to environmental and contractual standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review bathymetric and related surveys and ensure they meet design requirements.
• Supervise dredging, reclamation, marine survey and marine construction activities.
• Monitor production efficiency and select appropriate dredging methodologies.
• Conduct inspections, issue go‑ahead decisions or non‑compliance reports.
• Verify that all lines and levels are achieved according to the approved design.
• Maintain full‑time on‑site presence and coordinate with client, colleagues and contractors.

Required profile

• Registered civil engineer with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years of cumulative marine surveying and dredging experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in port/marine design review and construction.
• Participation in at least two similar marine construction projects.
• Preferably employed full‑time by a consulting firm for at least two years.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
