R&D Intern – Cable Design

About the role

Join the technical team as an R&D Intern and support the design of cable solutions that meet both OCI’s capabilities and customer requirements. You will work on commercial enquiries from pre‑order to post‑order stages, preparing technical documentation and ensuring compliance with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer technical requirements and design cables according to project specifications.
• Prepare and issue SAP codes, datasheets (TDS), and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and verify calculations against specifications and manufacturing data.
• Support the commercial team with timely responses to enquiries, including clarification and deviation documentation.
• Maintain cable datasheets, cross‑sectional drawings, and a database of common clarifications and deviations.
• Ensure final item codes, special instructions, and technical information are provided for approved orders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Understanding of cable design standards and OCI product range.
• Ability to work collaboratively with commercial and engineering teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of cable design tools.
