Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting activities for Bin Al Sheikh Holding’s operations in Muscat. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate financial records, compliance with standards, and timely reporting to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring adherence to IFRS or equivalent standards.
• Support internal and external audits and uphold internal controls.
• Monitor budgets, analyse variances and produce financial reports for management.
• Assist with cash‑flow management, forecasting and financial planning.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or similar certification is a plus.
• Proven senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in diversified groups, construction or real‑estate sectors.
• Strong core accounting knowledge: general ledger, financial statement preparation, month‑end/year‑end closing.
• Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with audit support, internal controls and IFRS compliance.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on accuracy.
