Senior Sales Trader

About the role

This senior leadership position sits within the Brokerage Department and is responsible for designing, launching and managing a new Market Making and Liquidity Providing desk. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on technical execution, focusing on capital allocation, risk management and revenue generation through bid‑ask spread capture. The desk will initially operate on the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) with a roadmap to expand across GCC markets.

Key responsibilities

• Select and oversee deployment of low‑latency execution platforms, algorithmic trading engines and real‑time risk monitoring tools.
• Develop and refine automated quoting strategies to manage inventory, improve prices and participate in volume.
• Maintain tight spreads and depth across assigned MSX tickers to satisfy market‑maker obligations.
• Drive P&L growth through spread capture while staying within defined risk limits.
• Create a roadmap for scaling infrastructure to enter UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in financial markets with a proven track record in equities market making.
• Deep knowledge of GCC regulatory landscapes, especially MSX market structure and regional exchange rules.
