Senior Specialist – Employee Relations & Industrial Relations

About the role

The Senior Specialist in Employee Relations & Industrial Relations will support OQ’s RPI functions by delivering end‑to‑end ER/IR services. Acting as a focal point, the role ensures compliance with Omani labour law, company policies, and contributes to cultural transformation initiatives aligned with Oman 2040.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all assigned ER/IR tasks, projects and programs across RPI, reporting progress and resolving bottlenecks.
• Develop, implement and update core employee‑relations processes, ensuring alignment with Omani law and OQ policies.
• Provide guidance to people leaders and RPI managers on dispute resolution, grievances and disciplinary cases.
• Analyse trends in employee‑relations cases, propose proactive recommendations and support continuous improvement.
• Participate in the design and delivery of employee‑relations initiatives, staff surveys and action‑plan tracking.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, external contractors, vendors, Ministry of Manpower, trade unions and industry bodies.

Required profile

• Relevant higher‑education qualification (e.g., HR, Labour Law, Business Administration).
• Proven experience in employee‑relations and industrial‑relations within an oil & gas or energy environment.
• Strong knowledge of Omani labour legislation and ability to interpret and apply it.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work in an office setting with frequent travel to operational sites.
