Specialist Ophthalmologist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Specialist Ophthalmologist to join a multidisciplinary eye care team in Sohar. The role involves delivering comprehensive ophthalmic services, managing a diverse patient caseload, and contributing to high‑quality clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough eye examinations, including slit‑lamp and fundus assessments.
• Evaluate and manage cataract cases, from diagnosis to postoperative care.
• Diagnose and treat glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, corneal and retinal conditions.
• Interpret routine ophthalmic investigations and prescribe appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with other specialists and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MS/MD/DNB/FRCS) recognized by the Oman Medical Board/MOH.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post‑specialisation clinical experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
