Academic Director

About the role

The Academic Director will shape the educational vision of Al-Qari' Al-Abqari School across all branches, ensuring high‑quality curriculum delivery and fostering a Quran‑centered, creative learning environment. Reporting to the CEO, this senior leader will guide teachers, curriculum designers, and academic staff to achieve the school’s impact goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual academic strategy in partnership with the CEO.
• Oversee implementation of all curricula, including Quran, Al‑Bayan, Islamic studies, STEAM, and the various Quintet programs.
• Supervise the Branch Director (Field CAO), Curriculum & Content Officer, and Academic Quality Officer.
• Design and update curricula, introducing new anthologies for Al‑Bayan, Usul al‑Fiqh, and the "Talqin al‑Sibyan" program.
• Monitor teaching quality and assessment through regular field visits and reporting.
• Lead impact‑maximisation initiatives such as Quran and Al‑Bayan instruction, STEAM projects, and student publications.
• Coordinate teacher training with HR, especially for First Domain teachers.
• Prepare periodic academic reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Education, Islamic Studies, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of academic leadership experience in schools or educational institutions.
• Deep knowledge of Islamic curricula (Quran, Al‑Bayan) and modern STEAM curricula.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Fluency in Arabic; English proficiency is an advantage.
• Commitment to the Sakinah Quintet values and ability to embed them in daily practice.
