AFR Ops Specialist

About the role

The AFR Ops Specialist will support DHL Global Forwarding’s freight operations in Muscat, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and customers receive high‑quality service. Working under close supervision, you will handle shipment information, incident management, and administrative tasks while contributing to revenue and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers under direct supervision for shipment information and incident/complaint management.
• Verify that correct costs and revenues are captured against each customer profile and flag any issues.
• Perform administrative shipment activities, including receipt of bookings, documentation, and coordination of local and international transport.
• Manage shipments in line with customer service commitments and identify operational exceptions.
• Support data‑quality improvement and follow regulatory compliance procedures for commodities and locations.
• Route and assign shipments to appropriate consolidations, maximizing profit while meeting service commitments.
• Prepare invoices with supporting documentation, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Use monitoring tools to highlight performance issues and take corrective action.
• Release delivery orders, manifests, and cargo to clients and collect payments for released orders.
• Coordinate via email and phone with network offices and internal departments for end‑to‑end job handling.

Required profile

• Vocational, specialized, technical or certification level education.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, freight or related operations.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow established guidelines.
• Strong communication skills for email and phone coordination.
• Knowledge of the CW1 system is an added advantage.
