Aircraft Electrical and Environmental E&E Specialist (F-16)

About the role

The Aircraft Electrical and Environmental (E&E) Specialist for the F-16 C/D fleet is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, testing, and modifying electronic systems and components. The role supports both flightline and back-shop operations, ensuring aircraft electrical and environmental systems are serviceable and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect, remove, install, repair, modify, and overhaul F-16 E&E systems and associated support equipment.
• Use technical data, wiring diagrams, ohm meters, electronic measuring equipment, ground support equipment and special tools to perform maintenance.
• Upload operational software and flight programs (OFP) to system components and manage software upgrades.
• Inspect and evaluate heating/air-conditioning, avionics cooling, cabin pressure, OBOGS, fire detection, AC/DC power, lighting, landing gear, control switches, fire extinguishing and related systems.
• Interpret inspection findings, determine corrective actions, and ensure accurate maintenance records.
• Provide on-the-job training, supervise technicians, and act as quality-assurance for the trade.

Required profile

• Minimum five years recent experience with F-16 electrical and environmental systems (Block 40 or higher).
• Qualified as a 5-level Journeyman or 7-level Craftsman (or equivalent) with proven flightline or intermediate maintenance background.
• Willingness to train on additional aircraft maintenance tasks.

Required skills

• F-16 E&E Block 40+ systems knowledge.
• Electrical troubleshooting and wiring repair.
• Use of ohm meters, electronic measuring equipment, and ground support equipment.
• Software upload and flight program management.
• Inspection and analysis of heating, cooling, pressurization, power, lighting, and fire detection systems.
• Interpretation of technical data, wiring diagrams, and maintenance orders.
