Assistant Sales Manager – Heavy Equipment

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Sales Manager to strengthen our heavy equipment sales team at General Engineering Services – GENSERV. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating revenue and achieving sales targets through the promotion and marketing of a wide range of construction and heavy‑machinery products.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and implement sales strategies for yourself and the sales team across the assigned territory to ensure high coverage and deal participation.
• Generate revenue and meet sales targets by managing key accounts, conducting technical and commercial negotiations, and preparing quotations.
• Visit customers, sites, quarries and mines regularly to generate leads, conduct sales calls and follow‑up visits.
• Track upcoming projects and tenders, liaise closely with main contractors, and prepare cost‑benefit analyses (cost per ton, TCO) for clients.
• Prepare product presentations, technical comparisons and lost‑sale reports, and coordinate with the after‑sales team to address customer requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Automotive Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 12‑15 years of sales experience in the construction/heavy‑equipment sector within Oman or the GCC.
• Proven knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders, backhoe loaders, telehandlers, forklifts and crushers.
• Leadership experience managing a sales team and a valid Oman/GCC driving licence.
• Willingness to relocate to any branch as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
