Biology Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat – Muscat is seeking a qualified Biology Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging biology lessons, support student learning, and contribute to the school’s vibrant community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach biology using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on pacing charts.
• Mark exams and assessments according to departmental schedules.
• Implement the SABIS® point system to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Provide additional support to low‑performing students to improve motivation and achievement.
• Invigilate exams and ensure a properly managed exam environment.
• Assist with exam preparation, including reviewing past papers as part of structured revision schedules.
• Participate in student‑life events such as art, open house, and physical education activities.
• Perform administrative duties such as supervising lunches, buses, traffic control, and substitute teaching when needed.
• Attend training sessions to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field (or equivalent).
• Proficient English communication skills, native speaker preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
