About the role
The Business Intelligence Analyst will analyse large volumes of raw data to create valuable business insights and data products. The role requires strong analytical abilities, proficiency with BI tools, and the capacity to design, implement and maintain efficient BI solutions that support decision‑making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement data models and database structures for BI reports and dashboards.
- Develop SQL programs, data‑modeling solutions and ETL processes using SAP Data Services.
- Create and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and functions.
- Build interactive reports, dashboards and visualisations with BI tools such as SAP BO and QlikView.
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions.
- Monitor and optimise the performance of databases and BI applications.
- Ensure data security by implementing appropriate access controls.
- Troubleshoot data‑related issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Document technical specifications, data processes and solution designs.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging BI technologies.
Required profile
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with business users, analysts and stakeholders.
- Problem‑solving expertise to identify and resolve data‑related challenges.
- Knowledge of the banking sector, especially retail banking, with added advantage for corporate and Islamic banking experience.
- Capability to document data dictionaries, processes and technical specifications.
- Organisational skills to plan, prioritise tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented with good presentation and writing abilities.
Required skills
- SQL programming and query optimisation.
- SAP Data Services for ETL processes.
- Data visualisation tools such as SAP BusinessObjects (BO) and QlikView.
- Data modelling and schema design.
- Performance tuning, indexing and data security practices.
- Experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of role‑based access controls and data‑warehouse concepts.
