Business Intelligence Specialist

About the role

The Business Intelligence Specialist supports the delivery of BI standards and systems, ensuring integration with databases and data warehouses. Reporting to the Manager of Information Management & Digital Delivery, the role works closely with business units to design, implement and maintain BI solutions that meet organisational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Select, blueprint, gather requirements, design and roll out BI solutions to end users.
• Ensure high levels of BI availability through support functions and thorough testing.
• Collaborate with business units to align BI deliverables with OQ RPI BI standards.
• Translate business requirements into specifications for data store, data warehouse and data mart design.
• Transition developed BI systems to the Operations & Support team and maintain configuration management and change controls.
• Provide technical assistance and cross‑training to team members.
• Design and implement best‑practice guidelines in line with OQ BI standards.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in business analysis for BI projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as Assurance, Finance and Commercial teams.
• Willingness to engage with external contractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Comfortable working in an office environment with intensive computer use and occasional site visits.
