About the role
The Captain leads banquet and event service operations at our Aloft hotel in Muscat, ensuring seamless execution from set‑up to guest satisfaction. You will coordinate with chefs, stewards, and front‑of‑house teams to deliver high‑quality food and beverage experiences for group functions.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate service needs, special dietary requests, and menu changes to kitchen and service staff.
- Prepare and present group checks, manage billing, and ensure accurate payment processing.
- Set up banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee‑break areas according to event specifications, including table settings and centrepiece placement.
- Inspect cleanliness and presentation of china, glassware, and silverware before service.
- Monitor guest satisfaction during events and address any issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and adhere to safety, security, and uniform standards.
- Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, and arranging items up to 25 lb.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of food‑and‑beverage or banquet experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to work full‑time on‑site and stand for extended periods.
