About the role
The Captain leads banquet and event service operations, ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen, stewards, and guests. This full‑time position is based at an Aloft hotel in Muscat and focuses on delivering high‑quality food and beverage experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
- Prepare and present group function charges and checks to contacts for payment.
- Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee‑break areas are set up and ready for service.
- Display proper centerpieces and inspect the cleanliness of china, glass, and silver before use.
- Check in with guests to confirm satisfaction and address any special dietary requests.
- Set tables according to event type and service standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and follow all safety and security policies.
- Uphold professional appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection.
- Provide courteous guest greetings and handle telephone inquiries with proper etiquette.
- Support team collaboration, listen to employee concerns, and adhere to quality standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage or banquet experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods.
