Deputy Operations Manager

About the role

The Deputy Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in planning, executing, coordinating and controlling inspection services operations and project delivery across industrial plants in Oman. This senior position ensures that inspection, testing, NDT and quality services are delivered on schedule, within budget and to client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop operational plans, budgets, forecasts and resource allocations for assigned jobs.
• Coordinate the full project lifecycle from mobilisation to close‑out, including report preparation and invoicing support.
• Review scopes of work, contractual requirements and inspection/test plans, clarifying gaps before execution.
• Deploy qualified personnel, inspectors, NDT technicians, engineers, equipment and approved subcontractors.
• Monitor productivity, schedule performance, costs, overtime and gross margin, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain communication with clients, resolve operational issues and promptly escalate significant risks.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, competency development and performance monitoring of operational staff.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist sales with proposals and new business.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in industrial services, inspection, testing, NDT, QA/QC or oil & gas projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects or operational teams, preferably in a TIC company in Oman.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management abilities.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and vendor locations within the UAE.

Required skills

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI/CSWIP) or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications such as BGAS, API 653, API 510.
• Proficiency in NDT techniques and QA/QC procedures.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality records.
