EHS Engineer

About the role

The EHS Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs across project sites. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, contractual obligations and company standards while fostering a strong EHS culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop safe work methods and prepare Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) documents.
• Conduct Aspect Impact Studies and create Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
• Prepare project‑specific EHS plans and ensure their execution.
• Investigate serious incidents, initiate corrective and preventive actions, and analyse incident trends.
• Perform internal audits, identify non‑conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
• Review and monitor EHS performance, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
• Identify training needs, design and deliver training for staff, subcontractors, workers and visitors.
• Ensure the quality and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) on site.
• Carry out regular inspections and promote EHS awareness through campaigns and competitions.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of EHS principles, regulations and best practices.
• Experience in developing safety methods, risk assessments and emergency plans.
• Ability to investigate incidents, conduct audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
