Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a senior, hands‑on Financial Controller to lead full‑cycle accounting, project accounting, tax compliance, budgeting and team management for an engineering and construction business. The role is reserved for Omani nationals and requires strong technical accounting expertise and bilingual communication in English and Arabic.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly closing, reconciliations, FX gains/losses and prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow and board reports.
• Maintain the Accounting Manual, ensure IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 compliance, and manage year‑end close calendar.
• Lead statutory and tax audits, coordinate auditor selection and ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Handle monthly VAT, WHT and TDS filings, and ensure timely tax return submissions.
• Drive annual budgeting, 5‑year DCF forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Manage banking relationships, daily cash reporting and support the CFO on collections and payments.
• Process payroll, maintain fixed‑asset registers and evaluate investment ROI.
• Control project costs, perform revenue recognition per IFRS 15 and calculate internal rates and mark‑ups.
• Design and monitor internal controls and provide finance team training.

Required profile

• Omani national with 8‑12 years of accounting experience in engineering/construction.
• Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting; professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work with senior management, project and sales teams.
