Flight Operations Manager

About the role

The Flight Operations Manager leads the Flight Operations Engineering Section, ensuring aircraft performance engineering, technical documentation and operational planning are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role works closely with fleet offices, the VP of Flight Operations and external partners to support the airline’s operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all activities of Flight Operations Engineering, guaranteeing adherence to operational, regulatory and administrative standards.
• Oversee the production and update of aircraft performance data for all flight phases using manufacturer manuals and tools.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, engineering departments and internal stakeholders on performance engineering and technical support issues.
• Ensure EFB‑OPT/Flysmart performance administration and data flow meet safety and regulatory criteria.
• Lead projects such as new aircraft evaluation, payload optimisation, route analysis and fleet suitability studies.
• Develop and maintain departure and en‑route contingency procedures, including EO‑SIDs and engine‑failure scenarios.
• Supervise the creation and revision of operational manuals (OM‑B, OM‑C, SOM) and liaise with regulatory bodies.
• Identify and implement new technologies to improve operational processes and efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a flight operations engineering team or similar technical function.
• Strong understanding of aircraft performance data, regulatory audits (IOSA, internal/external) and safety requirements.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional projects and communicate technical information to pilots and operational staff.
• Experience developing contingency procedures and operational manuals.
