General Cashier

About the role

The General Cashier is responsible for the secure and efficient handling of all cash transactions within a hotel environment. This role ensures accurate cash collection, disbursement, and record‑keeping to support the financial integrity of hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily cash transactions, including collections and disbursements.
• Count, record, and deposit cash securely and accurately.
• Reconcile cash drawers and maintain adequate change funds.
• Control petty cash funds, verify vouchers, and process reimbursements.
• Collect and record payments from guests and other parties.
• Prepare and timely deposit cash receipts.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly cash transaction reports.
• Provide cash‑related data to the Finance Manager for analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements as needed.
• Implement cash control procedures and report any discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits related to cash handling.
• Train colleagues on cash handling policies and promote teamwork.
• Operate in a safe, environmentally friendly manner, adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Omani nationality.
• Experience in cash handling within a hospitality setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to reconcile cash drawers and manage petty cash.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and cash control procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to train staff.
