History Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join The International School of Choueifat – Muscat. The successful candidate will deliver the SABIS® curriculum, support student achievement, and contribute to a vibrant school community.

Key responsibilities

• Aiding in duties such as testing children, substituting for absent teachers, organizing lunches and buses, controlling traffic, and other administrative tasks assigned by SABIS® management.
• Teaching using provided lesson plans or developing plans based on pacing charts to implement the SABIS® point system.
• Marking exams according to departmental schedules and materials.
• Discussing disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department as needed.
• Implementing the SABIS® point system to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Invigilating exams and ensuring a properly managed exam environment.
• Supporting low‑performing students to improve motivation and achievement.
• Preparing for external exams by reviewing past papers according to the structured revision schedule.
• Participating in student‑life activities such as art, open house, and physical education in coordination with the student‑life coordinator.
• Attending training sessions to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system.
• Performing other related tasks or projects delegated by school management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in History or a related field (or equivalent).
• Proficient or native English speaker.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to meet all employment requirements, including local education certifications, reference checks, and criminal background checks.
