Import Specialist – Retail Logistics

About the role

The Import Specialist for IKEA Oman ensures seamless integration of retail and supply processes at the store level. You will manage logistics operations, align supply and demand, and support stock availability while keeping costs low.

Key responsibilities

• Control incoming sea and road containers to IKEA Oman, adhering to supply setups.
• Handle customs documentation, coordinate with Omani authorities for product approvals and duty rates.
• Manage import and export processes, tracking article ranges and tariff codes.
• Plan stock availability, prioritize clearance, and generate goods receipt notes (GRN) in the system.
• Ensure store stock levels to minimise shortages and meet customer demand.
• Provide warehouse capacity forecasts to the GCC logistics manager three months ahead.
• Oversee goods flow from external warehouses to stores, checking for discrepancies or damages and filing claims.
• Maintain all import documentation and coordinate with suppliers and external warehouses.
• Monitor and optimise total supply‑chain costs through partner communication and customer expectations.
• Lead the logistics and goods‑flow department to achieve highest availability at the lowest cost.
