Liquid Hydrogen Expert – Project Development

About the role

Wood is seeking a Liquid Hydrogen Expert to join its Projects team in Oman. You will lead the development of hydrogen infrastructure from concept through FEED and detailed design, supporting business development and commercialisation of liquid hydrogen projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end hydrogen infrastructure development process, from initiation to conceptual design.
• Prepare project initiation notes, business cases and define liquid hydrogen production, storage and dispensing facilities.
• Conduct techno‑commercial assessments, select optimal technologies and design liquefaction and cryogenic storage systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers, technology licensors and vendors to secure cost‑effective components and manage engineering studies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project timelines, stakeholder engagement, presentations and board‑level documentation.
• Develop pre‑FEED scopes, market analyses, cost estimates and support financing arrangements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in liquefaction and storage of cryogenic gases (e.g., LNG, hydrogen).
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale engineering projects and business development initiatives.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Leadership qualities with a track record of delivering complex technical programmes.
